After serving in the U.S. Army reserve, Kline began his television career at CBS in New York, working on soap operas and news programing, and covering events such as the Apollo 9 launch.

After serving in the U.S. Army reserve, Kline began his television career at CBS in New York, working on soap operas and news programing, and covering events such as the Apollo 9 launch.
He then became an associate producer on The Dick Cavett Show and Betty White’s Pet Set before directing and producing games shows including Joker’s Wild, The New Tic Tac Dough, Break the Bank, Strike It Rich, Lose or Draw, Bullseye, Hot Potato, Win, Lose or Draw, Master of the Mazes, and Pictionary.
Kline died March 21, 2020, in Connecticut. He was 79.
