Peter Brown was an actor best known for his co-starring role as Deputy Johnny McKay on the series Lawman. He appeared on more than 150 episodes of the 1958 to 1962 ABC western, alongside John Russell, who played Marshal Dan Troop.

Brown had another co-starring role on the western series Laredo; as well as a string of recurring characters on soap operas: 10 episodes of Days of Our Lives, as the character Dr. Greg Peters; six episodes of The Young and the Restless, as Robert Laurence; and six episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful, as Blake Hayes.

Additionally, he appeared on the series West Point, Maverick, Cheyenne, The Alfred Hitchcock Hour, Wagon Train, The Virginian, One Life to Live, Mod Squad, My Three Sons, Mission: Impossible, The Bob Newhart Show, Police Story, Police Woman, The Streets of San Francisco, Quincy M.E., Wonder Woman, Charlie’s Angels, The Dukes of Hazzard, Fantasy Island, Dallas, Hart to Hart, T.J. Hooker, Knight Rider, Baywatch, Wings and JAG.

Born in Manhattan, Brown moved to the West Coast with his family, and later studied acting at UCLA. He met studio chief Jack Warner while working at a gas station, which led to a contract at Warner Bros.

He had roles in films including The Story of Esther Costello, starring Joan Crawford; Sayonara, with Marlon Brando and Ricardo Montalban; Darby’s Rangers, starring James Garner; Too Much, Too Soon, with Dorothy Malone and Errol Flynn; Marjorie Morningstar, with Gene Kelly and Natalie Wood; The Young Philadelphians, with Paul Newman; Foxy Brown, starring Pam Grier; and The Wedding Planner, with Jennifer Lopez and Matthew McConaughey.

Brown died March 21, 2016, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 80.
