Michael Minor was an actor best known for his role as Steve Elliott on the long-running CBS series Petticoat Junction. The comedy ran from 1963 to 1970 and chronicled the adventures of three sisters and their Uncle Joe, who staff the Shady Rest hotel in a rural town called Hooterville.

Minor joined the cast as a series regular in 1966, after a one-off role in 1964 as another character, Dan Plout. For 111 episodes he played Steve Elliott, whose plane crashes next to the city’s train tracks, right where the three sisters are bathing in a water tower. His character goes on to marry one of the three daughters, Betty Jo (Linda Kaye Henning) on the series, and in real life, Minor wed Henning in 1968. They were married for five years.

The actor also appeared on the series The Edge of Night, As the World Turns, The Lieutenant, Another World, My Three Sons, The Beverly Hillbillies, CHiPs, Vega$ and L.A. Law. He also had a recurring role on All My Children as Brandon Kingsley, a tycoon in the cosmetics industry who has an affair with Erica Kane (Susan Lucci).

Minor also appeared in the telefilms After the Honeymoon, The Millionaire and Once Again, the latter two starring Martin Balsam.

Additionally, Minor was a singer, and in 1966 he released the album This Is Mike Minor; his singles included “Silver Dollar” and “One Day at a Time.” He often sang on Petticoat Junction.

Minor’s father was television producer Don Fedderson (My Three Sons) and his mother was actress Tido Fedderson (The Millionaire).

He died January 28, 2016, in New York City. He was 75.
