Israel "Sruki" Switzer was a Canadian cable television pioneer best known for building and consulting on cable systems from the U.S. to Hong Kong and New Zealand during the 1970s and 1980s.

Switzer also built parts of Falcon Cable, the Los Angeles-based cable system, for founder Marc Nathanson, as well as Cablecasting Ltd., David Graham's cable company.

Additionally, Switzer founded Toronto TV station City-TV with his wife Phyllis Switzer, and pioneered television in Canada when he gave viewers access to U.S. TV stations by way of rooftop antennas.

Switzer died November 16, 2016, in Scottsdale, Arizona. He was 87.
