Edwin T. Vane was an American television executive.

A graduate of Fordham University, Vane began his career as a page at NBC before moving into advertising and promotions and, eventually, becoming an executive at NBC, ABC, and Group W Productions.

As vice president of daytime programming at ABC, he introduced such programs as The Dating Game, The Newlywed Game, Let’s Make a Deal, One Life to Live, Jeopardy, and Good Morning America.

Vane also supervised the television series Happy Days, Marcus Welby M.D., and Soap, helped create The American Music Awards, produced and distributed the syndicated series The Mike Douglas Show, and he was a member of the board of governors of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

Vane died June 26, 2020, in Los Angeles, California. He was 93.
