Barbara Shelley was a British actress.

She appeared in more than 100 films and television productions and is perhaps best known for her work on horror films with Hammer Film Productions, including Dracula, Prince of Darkness (1966) as well as the American film, Village of the Damned (1960).

Shelley also appeared on the big screen in The Dark Angel (1991), Ghost Story (1974), The Spy Killer (1969), Quatermass and the Pit (1967), Rasputin, the Mad Monk (1966), The Gorgon (1964), Stranglehold (1963), Bobbikins (1959), Blood of the Vampire (1958), The Vampire (1957), and Cat Girl (1957).

In television, Shelley had recurring roles in Solo for Canary, Rupert of Hentzau, Mogul, Oil Strike North, Crown Court, and Doctor Who while guest starring in Danger Man, The Saint, The Avengers, Route 66, Hazel, The Man from U.N.C.L.E., and EastEnders.

Shelley died January 4, 2021, in the United Kingdom. She was 88.
