Angela McEwan was an actress best known for her role in the 2014 film Nebraska, starring Bruce Dern and Will Forte. She played the small but memorable role of Peg Nagy, a newspaper editor who regretted losing Dern’s character Woody to his wife Kate, played by June Squib.

The role earned McEwan recognition as an emotional center to the film and prompted New Yorker critic Richard Brody to write of her scene with Forte, “[it] quietly wrenches the movie apart and makes the distant, unspoken past vibrate with a revived passionate power.”

McEwan studied acting in her earlier years at Los Angeles City College and later at UCLA. She moved with her husband to Mexico City, followed by Temple, Texas, performing in local theater in both cities.
