Elena Verdugo was an actress best known for her Emmy nominated role as nurse Consuelo Lopez on Marcus Welby, M.D. Verdugo appeared on all seven seasons of the ABC series about a general practitioner with a kind bedside manner.

Verdugo was nominated twice for an Emmy Award and once for a Golden Globe for her role in the series.

She also appeared on the shows Meet Millie, The Bob Cummings Show, Rawhide, The Red Skelton Hour, Route 66, 77 Sunset Strip, The New Phil Silvers Show, Petticoat Junction, Mannix, Ironside, Daniel Boone, and Love, American Style.
