Maria Mercader was an American journalist and news producer.

She is best known for her work producing various breaking news pieces, notably the sudden death of Princess Diana and the September 11, 2001 attacks.

A graduate of the College of New Rochelle in New York, Mercader began her career at CBS Newspath, producing pieces for distribution at CBS affiliates. She worked on the network’s foreign and national news desks.
