Joe Longo was a property master best known for his long association with the Star Trek franchise, including the first five seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, all seven seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and the feature films Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

Joe Longo was a property master best known for his long association with the Star Trek franchise, including the first five seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation, all seven seasons of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine and the feature films Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.

In addition to his Star Trek credits, Longo was the property master on the made-for-television movie The Ordeal of Dr. Mudd (1980), the drama series Tucker's Witch (1982, starring Catherine Hicks and Alfre Woodard), and the miniseries If Tomorrow Comes (1986). He began his career on The Munsters, then moved on to Happy Days and Mork & Mindy. While working on Paint Your Wagon with Clint Eastwood, Joe and his wife Paula Simrell (stand-in for star Jean Seberg) lived in Oregon for three months.

He also served as art department lead man on the 1977 feature film Capricorn One, a science-fiction thriller about a fraudulent NASA mission to Mars.

Longo died January 5, 2014.
