Star-Studded G-Phoria Video Game Awards to Air in August on G4 70s Show's Valderrama, Boston Legal's Shatner Among Celebs

That 70s Show star Wilmer Valderrama hosts G-Phoria - Mother of All Video Game Awards, airing Tuesday, August 9, on the G4 network.

Los Angeles, CA – Television and film stars, video game creators and a few of music's hottest acts partied as one under the stars at the G4 television network's G-Phoria - Mother of All Video Game Award Shows party and program.

TV/film star and avid gamer Wilmer Valderrama ("Fez" of That 70s Show) hosted the fete. Celeb presenters included 24's Carlos Bernard, Boston Legal and Star Trek icon William Shatner, among others. The program is scheduled for broadcast Tuesday, August 9, at 8:00 p.m ET/PT, with a pre-show broadcast beginning at 7:30 p.m. PT/ET. (Check your local listings and visit www.g4tv.com.)

G4, the only 24/7 network dedicated to video games and game culture, unleashed this third annual installment on a vibrant, hi-tech set with Los Angeles' soaring downtown skyline providing backdrop. Fans chose the G-Phoria winners by voting online and by text message in categories such as Game of the Year, Best Shooter, Best Multiplayer Game, Best Sound Design, Best Original Soundtrack, Best Boss and Best Male/Female Voice Performance.

Attracting hundreds of VIPs and celebs from all walks of entertainment industry life, the night featured previews of more than 25 new games, including the first playable version of Peter Jackson's King Kong, the official video game based on Universal Pictures' December film release, and much more.

Solid musical sets from electro-rockers The Bravery, G-Unit's newest rap heavyweight Tony Yayo and hip hop/pop phenoms Black Eyed Peas kept G-Phoria moving. Yayo's performance of his hit, "So Seductive" featuring rap superstar 50 Cent, was enhanced by the huge video presence of the G-unit leader behind him, along with footage from the forthcoming video game release, Bulletproof.

Television icon William Shatner

Created and distributed by Vivendi Universal Games, Bulletproof 's huge buzz is driven by the likenesses and voices of rap music stars 50 Cent, Dr. Dre, Eminem and more featured throughout the game. Andre Emerson, executive producer of Bulletproof and a 10-year game industry vet, enlisted Emmy-winning Sopranos writer Terry Winter to write the game. Winter also penned the script for 50 Cent's forthcoming film, Get Rich or Die Tryin'.

Urban-inspired, sparkling street chic prevailed, with sexy babydoll tops, form-flattering jeans and flirty skirts of varying hemlines prevailing. Some fashionable celebs presenting or spotted inside G-Phoria were: Melissa Joan Hart; Jolene Blalock (Enterprise); Rachael Leigh Cook (Las Vegas); Golden Brooks and Jill Marie Jones of the long-running, Kelsey Grammer-produced Girlfriends; TV/film star and stand-up comic Eddie Griffen; 24's Roger Cross; Comedy Central's Carlos Mencia; Strong Medicine's Rick Schroeder; Donald Faison of Scrubs; Terminator 3's Alana Curry; pop music/film star Christina Milian, E! host Kerri Kasem; Bold and the Beautiful Emmy winner Adrienne Frantz; Brenda Song (Phil of the Future); Mackenzie Rosman (7th Heaven); comedy actor and pop culture icon Tommy Chong; sexy pro boxer Mia St. John and more.
