Sid Melton, Comedic Actor Known for Decades of Film and TV

Melton is remembered as Alf Monroe on Green Acres and for three series with Danny Thomas.

Sid Melton, an actor who appeared in more than 100 movies and TV shows in career that spanned half a century, died November 3, 2011, Burbank, California. He was 94.

Melton ius remembered by many television viewers for the role of handyman Alf Monroe on the comedy series Green Acres, and for three shows with Danny Thomas — The Danny Thomas Show (aka Make Room for Daddy), The Danny Thomas Hour and Make Room for Granddaddy.

Other notable television credits included Captain Midnight, The Jack Benny Program, Dragnet, Peter Gunn, Bachelor Father, The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Andy Griffith Show, Petticoat Junction, The Mod Squad, Gomer Pyle, Love, American Style, Rhoda, Hunter, The Fall Guy, The Golden Girls, Empty Nest, Blossom and many others.
