Clyde Ware, Writer, Director, Producer Passes
Ware wrote episodes of such series as Gunsmoke and Dynasty, and directed both feature films and made-for-television movies.
Clyde Ware, a writer, director and producer best known for his writing on such shows as Gunsmoke, Dynasty and Rawhide, died August 30, 2010, in Los Angeles. He was 79.
According to news reports, the cause was cancer.
Ware, a member of the Writers Guild of America and Directors Guild of America, worked up until his death, when he wrote a feature film called Dreamkiller, released in 2010.
Ware wrote for numerous television other shows, including The High Chaparral, Knots Landing and Airwolf.
In addition, he directed eight films including the television special The Story of Pretty Boy Floyd, starring Martin Sheen.
Ware also wrote two award-winning novels, The Innocents and The Eden Tree.
He is survived by two children.
