Networks Get Higher Grades in Diversity
The broadcast networks improved their grades on a report card given by the National Latino Media Council. The big four networks, ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC, were graded on their efforts to promote diversity. Fox earned the highest honors with a B+, ABC scored a B, and NBC and CBS both earned a passing grade of C+. The council recognized both Fox and ABC for adding numerous Latino regular cast members to their prime-time shows. ABC was the most-improved network, raising its marks from a D- in 2001 to a B this year. The National Latino Media Council consists of 13 Latino civil rights and advocacy organizations.
