NAB-goers Look More toward Web Video Solutions

Annual's focus shifts from conventional
station gear to internet-based TV

While station engineers and brass have typically descended upon the National Association of Broadcasters conference in search of traditional station gear, this year's focus has shifted even more towards internet production.

Responding to viewers demands for television wherever, whenever they want it?  The race to create and deliver programs on the web to whichever screen the consumer chooses—high definition televisions, laptops, mobile phones—keeps heating up.

Google's first-time presence at NAB underscored the annual's shift toward web-based content creation and delivery, with CEO Eric Schmidt delivered the keynote.  Broadcasters heard from a spectrum of others addressing digital video and walked among vendors displaying a mix of conventional and newer web-based products.
