From the Chair: A Reminder About Emmy Voting

As this issue of emmy went to press, the start of nominations round voting for the 76th Emmy Awards was just around the corner, but planning for the telecast — airing Sunday, September 15, live on ABC — had begun months earlier. In fact, teams from the Academy and the network began meeting shortly after the 75th Emmys in January. Together, we are committed to making our industry’s biggest night a must watch event that elevates and celebrates the very best of television and entertains audiences around the world.

As Emmy prep moves forward, the Academy is focused not only on the art of television, but on our broader community and societal engagement. With that in mind, I want to mention the Hollywood Climate Summit, a special event taking place June 25-28.

Now in its fifth year, this multidisciplinary gathering — which will be held in Beverly Hills — is dedicated to changing global beliefs and behaviors by bringing climate solutions to the forefront of media attention. The entertainment community is in a unique position to address climate change, and the Summit provides information, tools and strategies to inspire and empower industry professionals in this effort.

The Television Academy played a significant role in shaping this important event. In a first for the Summit, day one will focus entirely on television. And in crafting the agenda, the organizers drew upon direct feedback from the Academy's Board of Governors, who provided insights on how to best increase climate representation onscreen. In addition, the Academy's talent relations team booked several of the speakers, and members of the producers, production executives, reality programming, television executives and writers peer groups are eligible for a 60% discount. For ticket information and other details, go to HollywoodClimateSummit.com.

Events such as this reflect the Academy's dedication not only to advancing the television industry, but addressing critical global issues and supporting our community through meaningful engagement. I encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to participate and make a positive impact. Together, we can create a brighter future for the Academy, our industry and the world.

Finally, an important reminder about the Emmys: Every vote matters, so be sure to submit your ballots by Monday, June 24, and mark your calendars to watch the announcement of this year's Emmy nominations on Wednesday, July 17.
