2009 CREATIVE ARTS EMMY® AWARDS AND BALL TO REMAIN ON SEPT. 12 AS ENTIRE CELEBRATION SHIFTS TO LOS ANGELES CONVENTION CENTER

North Hollywood, CA –The 2009 Creative Arts Emmy® Awards will remain on its originally scheduled date, Saturday, Sept. 12, but will shift location from the NOKIA Theatre L.A. Live to the Los Angeles Convention Center – the site of the Creative Arts Ball – to accommodate weekend preparations for CBS’ live broadcast of the 61st Primetime Emmy® Awards the following evening.

CBS advanced the date of the Primetime Emmy telecast at the NOKIA by one week to Sept. 13 to avoid the possibility of a delayed start from an NFL doubleheader overrun on Sept. 20.

"The Creative Arts Emmy Awards are extremely important to all of us at the Television Academy," said John Shaffner, chairman-CEO of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences. "Our Board of Governors, which represents every peer group in our membership ranks, made this decision to ensure that this year's celebration will carry on the tradition of presenting a high quality, entertaining awards ceremony for all involved."

Lee Miller and Steve Venezia will executive produce the 2009 Creative Arts Emmy Awards, with Spike Jones, Jr., producing.

Nominations Ceremony Coming July 16

Nominations for the 61st Primetime Emmys will be announced July 16 at 5:40 a.m. (PT) from the Academy's Leonard H. Goldenson Theatre in North Hollywood.
