Governors Anya Adams and Mary Lou Belli, along with their Peer Group Executive Committee, invite members of the Directors Peer Group to:
Directing Intimacy Workshop
Session Description: This three-hour online workshop centers on directing relationships, nudity and simulated sex scenes.
In this session we'll discuss:
- the framework of boundaries and consent
- the role of the intimacy coordinator
- IC collaboration with the director in prep and in production
- SAG's casting guidelines for nudity and simulated sex acts
- language for SAG riders for actors, body doubles and stunt performers
- language for directing physical actions and discussing body parts
- best practices of choreography for comfort, safety and performance
- privacy garments - what they are, what they are called, what body parts they cover and how the IC works with wardrobe to help facilitate their use
- a framework that considers ethics, religious beliefs, sexuality and trauma experiences – how this can inform the work and help make intimate sets safer for actors and crew members
- practice exercises with intimate scene work from scripted television shows
