Bettye McCartt, Manager to Selleck, Clooney and Other Stars

McCartt, who got her start as a publicist, also represented such authors as Louis L'Amour and Henry Miller.

Bettye McCartt, a manager and onetime agent who represented Tom Selleck and several other top actors, died August 16, 2013, in Santa Barbara, California. She was 81. McCartt began her career as a publicist at 20th Century Fox and went on to become an agent and manager. She began working with Selleck in 1975 and continued to represent him until her passing. Over the years her clients included Maureen O'Hara, Anthony Quinn, George Clooney, Billly Dee Williams and many others. She also worked with Henry Miller, Louis L'Amour and other authors.
