Tony Genaro was a character actor principally known for playing Miguel, a cattle rancher, in the Kevin Bacon film Tremors.

Born Anthony Genaro Acosta in Gallup, New Mexico, he had small parts in Bunny O’Hare, Wacky Taxi and La Bamba before receiving his first big role as Nick Rael in Robert Redford’s 1988 film The Milagro Beanfield War.

Born Anthony Genaro Acosta in Gallup, New Mexico, he had small parts in Bunny O’Hare, Wacky Taxi and La Bamba before receiving his first big role as Nick Rael in Robert Redford’s 1988 film The Milagro Beanfield War.

He continued to establish himself in the entertainment field with films including Tremors 3, The Craft, World Trade Center, Ted & Venus, Final Analysis, Heart and Souls, Mighty Joe Young, Phenomenon, The Mask of Zorro, Anger Management and The Soloist.

His television credits included Baywatch, Cop Rock, Ned Blessing: The Story of My Life and Times, Nash Bridges, A Family In Crisis: The Elian Gonzalez Story, CSI, CSI: Miami and The Bold and the Beautiful.

He was a member of SAG/AFTRA and Actors Equity for the past 44 years. Prior to becoming an actor, Genaro studied at San Diego State University and worked as a licensed psychiatric technician at Patton State Hospital in Patton, Calif.

Genaro died May 7, 2014, in his Hollywood Hills home. He was 72.
