Tobias Strebel, born Toby Sheldon, was best known for his participation on the reality series Botched, The Doctors and My Strange Addiction. He famously underwent a bevy of plastic surgery procedures in an attempt to look more like Justin Bieber.

Strebel, a native of Nuremberg, Germany, came to the U.S. to pursue a songwriting career. Instead, he found work as a production assistant on a project for producer Leslie Borodi. He began undergoing procedures beginning in 2004, but ramped up in 2008 after Bieber became more famous. Strebel claimed he was not enamored by Bieber as a celebrity, but simply admired his face, and wanted all of his changes to be modeled after the pop star.

He parylayed his own celebrity into a music group that he formed with Kitty Jay and Venus D’Lite, also known for their attempts to resemble celebrities through plastic surgery procedures. Their ensemble was called “The Plastics.”

Strebel also pursued a career as a licensed vocational nurse in California, where he registered in 2010. He continued to work as a nurse throughout his career in Hollywood, and in the past year, he worked at Goldstar Healthcare Center in Inglewood.

Strebel died of undisclosed causes on August 21, 2015, in Los Angeles. He was 34.
