Thomas Stanford was an American film editor.

He won an Academy Award for Best Film Editing for the film West Side Story (1961).

In addition to film editing, West Side Story won in nine other Oscar categories, including best picture, director (Robert Wise and Jerome Robbins), supporting actress (Rita Moreno), and supporting actor (George Chakiris).

Other films edited by Stanford include Suddenly, Last Summer (with Elizabeth Taylor), The Slender Thread (with Sidney Poitier), and Jeremiah Johnson (with Robert Redford).
