Sidney Kaufman
Sidney Kaufman was an audio engineer, technical director and director of operations at CBS for 37 years.
He worked at both CBS News and CBS Sports during his career, and received awards for his production work on NFL Today and CBS Sports. He also received honorable mentions for his coverage of the space program, among other special events.
Kaufman was an integral part of setting up the news operation at CBS Washington. He retired as vice president of CBS Cable in 1987.
He also served in the Army Signal and Air Corps for three years.
Kaufman died June 4, 2015, in Boca Raton, Florida. He was 90.
