Ron Silveira was a well-known and well-liked veteran of the postproduction community and an innovator of digital technologies that brought postproduction into the modern era.
 
Silveira received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his MBA from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. He went on to serve as president of Compact Video/Image Transform and president of Unitel, before joining The Post Group as COO, where he oversaw the visual effects division and digital film group.

Ron Silveira was a well-known and well-liked veteran of the postproduction community and an innovator of digital technologies that brought postproduction into the modern era.
 
Silveira received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, and his MBA from Willamette University in Salem, Oregon. He went on to serve as president of Compact Video/Image Transform and president of Unitel, before joining The Post Group as COO, where he oversaw the visual effects division and digital film group.
 
During his nine-year stint at The Post Group, Silveira formed the design division, Momentum Lab, where he helped pioneer the development of high-definition and digital-cinema services in postproduction. Silveira established a process that created a digital negative and HD masters from data, a technique that would serve as a catalyst for rapid technological change within the post industry.
 
In 2004, Silveira joined NBC Universal, where he became the vice president of Universal Studios Digital Services. During his tenure over the last decade, he worked on many notable series, including The Office, Parenthood and the Dick Wolf productions Law & Order, Chicago P.D. and Chicago Fire.
 
Silveira was a member of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers, as well as a past president of former postproduction trade association ITS's Southern California chapter.
 
Silveira died June 20, 2014.
