N. Brock Winkless IV was a puppeteer best known for his work on the horror films Bride of Chucky, Child’s Play and the latter’s two sequels.
He also worked on the action and science-fiction films Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Alien 3 and The X Files, as well as Honey I Blew Up the Kid, Death Becomes Her, Casper, Congo and Dr. Dolittle 2.

His other credits included the 1995 horror film Tales from the Crypt: Demon Knight, in addition to the Emmy-nominated television series Tales from the Crypt, which featured horror stories from the 1950s EC comic books. Winkless contributed to several episodes over the course of six seasons. He served as one of the puppeteers for the show’s host, a puppet called the Crypt Keeper, who would introduce that week’s episode. The Crypt Keeper necessitated six puppeteers; four were needed for his facial expressions alone.
Winkless died July 18, 2015, in Los Angeles. The cause was a debilitating neurological condition. He was 56.
