Melody Patterson was an actress best known for the role of Wrangler Jane on the 1960s' ABC comedy F Troop.

She was 15 when she began appearing on the series, which ran for two seasons, from 1965 to ’67, but continued to be a hit in syndication. F Troop followed the misadventures of the staff and neighbors of an Army fort in the years following the Civil War. Patterson’s character was a self-reliant tomboy who ran the town’s trading post and was enamored by the Captain, played by Ken Berry. The series garnered one Emmy nomination for lead actor Larry Storch, who played Corporal Randolph Agarn.

Patterson also appeared on the television series The Monkees, Adam-12, Green Acres and Hawaii Five-O. She appeared on three episodes of the latter, opposite her husband, James MacArthur, one of the stars of the series. The couple also appeared together in the 1968 film The Angry Breed. Additionally, Patterson had small or uncredited roles in the films Bye Bye Birdie, The Harrad Experiment, Blood and Lace and The Cycle Savages.

Following her role on F Troop she did a show on Armed Forces Radio for troops in Vietnam.
