John "Bud" Cardos
John "Bud" Cardos was an American producer, director, actor, and stuntman.
Cardos is best remembered for directing the films The Dark (1979) and Legends of the West (1992). He was also a stunt performer and second unit director on The Wild Bunch (1969).
A jack-of-all-trades, Cardos worked transportation for a number of productions including Memento (2000) and Secretary (2002).

He was also at the directing helm of Skeleton Coast (1988), Mutant (1984), The Day Time Ended (1979), Kingdom of the Spiders (1977), Drag Racer (1972), and The Red, White, and Black (1970).
As an actor, Cardos appeared in several television series including The High Chaparral, Daniel Boone, Custer, and The Monroes. He was also an actor and stuntman for director Al Adamson on films such as Blood of Dracula's Castle (1969), Satan's Sadists (1969), Five Bloody Graves (1969), The Female Bunch (1971), Black Samurai (1976), and Death Dimension (1978).
Cardos was hired as an animal wrangler and stuntman on the series Sergeant Preston of the Yukon and was an animal handler on Daniel Boone and for the Alfred Hitchcock classic films The Birds (1963) and Psycho (1960).
Cardos died December 31, 2020, in Acton, California. He was 91.
