Bob Read was an American investigative television producer.
Read began his journalism career with ABC News' 20/20, where, for nearly a decade, he produced a variety of investigative reports and other newsworthy features. He moved on to work for NBC's Dateline, where he continued to produce mostly investigative stories, before landing at Inside Edition in 1990.
Read would remain at Inside Edition for the next 30 years, rising through the ranks to become its managing editor and senior investigative producer. He was also well known as a generous mentor to the show's up-and-coming staff.
