Bernie Kahn was an American sitcom writer.

He is perhaps best known for penning episodes of the television series My Favorite Martian, Bewitched, and Get Smart.

On a swimming scholarship at the University of Michigan, he earned his bachelor and master's degrees in English literature before being drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On a swimming scholarship at the University of Michigan, he earned his bachelor and master's degrees in English literature before being drafted into the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

After his service, Kahn wrote for radio programs and game shows before shifting into sitcoms. He would go on to write over 100 episodes of television for shows such as My Mother the Car, Petticoat Junction, The Lucy Show, The Addams Family, The Brady Bunch, The Partridge Family, Maude, Three's Company, and The Love Boat.

He also created the NBC comedy Joe & Valerie, penned the film Basic Training (1985), and co-wrote the Disney television movie The Barefoot Executive (1971).

Kahn died April 21, 2021, in Woodland Hills, California. He was 90.
