NBC to Air Emmys Live Nationwide

Fans coast-to-coast to see 62nd Primetime Emmy® Awards gala together on NBC, live on Sunday, August 29.

Universal City, CA – For the first time in more than 30 years, NBC announced today, viewers coast-to-coast will be able to watch the 62nd Primetime Emmy® Awards gala together.

The Peacock is set to air the Primetime Emmys live across the United States on Sunday, August 29 (5-8 p.m. PT, 8-11 p.m. ET).

Typically, the awards ceremony has aired live to viewers on the East Coast only.

Viewers in other time zones watch a tape-delayed broadcast — and are largely accustomed to avoiding the internet in these circumstances, if they wish to enjoy surprises, because viewers who see the program ahead of them regularly post "spoiler" information online. •

The first time the Emmys were telecast, on NBC in 1955, the show aired live coast-to-coast from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. ET. The last time the Emmys aired live was on ABC in 1976, when it aired 9-11 p.m. ET.
