Mary Hanes, Writer and Producer for Make It or Break It and More

Hanes worked with her husband as writers and producers on various projects.

Mary Hanes, a television writer and producer for several series, died August 7, 2012, at her home in Studio City, California. She was 56.

According to news reports, the cause was cancer.

Hanes, who got her start as a playwright, worked with her husband Ken Hanes. The two were most recently writers and executive producers on the ABC Family series Make It or Break It.

She also executive produced the Pax TV series Hope Island and was a writer-producer for the 2001 WB series Dead Last and Eden, a 2011 drama pilot for USA Network.

She is survived by her husband, her parents, two sisters and a brother.
