Joe Bodolai, Comedy Writer for Saturday Night Live, Kids in the Hall

Bodolai wrote for several series in both the U.S. and Canada.

Joe Bodolai, a former writer for Saturday Night Live, was found dead in a Hollywood hotel room on December 26, 2011. He was 63.

According to news reports, the cause was an apparent suicide.

After his stint SNL, Bodolai co-wrote the first draft of Wayne's World with Mike Myers, though he never received screen credit.

Bodolai also produced television series like It's Only Rock and Roll, The Kids in the Hall and Comics!

His most recent work was on the 2001 series After Hours in Canada.

Only a few days before he passed, he wrote a blog post titled "If This Was Your Last Day Alive What Would You Do?," citing his alcoholism as one of his regrets.

He is survived by his sons.
