Emmy iPhone App Nominated for 2011 Mobile Excellence Award

The Television Academy's app named a finalist for “Best Mobile Application for Entertainment.”

The Emmy® iPhone application, created this year by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences along with Devious Media and Truelogic, has been selected as a finalist for a Mobile Excellence Award in the category of "Best Mobile Application for Entertainment."

The Emmy iPhone app is the perfect tool for uncovering all the facts about this year’s top award winners and contenders in entertainment. Additional elements of the app include exclusive content from the 63rd Primetime Emmy Awards, as well as over 850 videos and photos from previous Emmy telecasts, including a database of the nominees and winners since 1949. Users are able to access content from other Television Academy events, including the Primetime Emmy nominations, Creative Arts Awards, Television Academy Honors and Hall of Fame ceremony.

The app provides live streaming from select Academy “Evening With” events, such as “An Evening with Glee,” while allowing users to connect to the Academy’s Facebook, Twitter and YouTube pages, as well as to receive up-to-date news and information from the Television Academy. The free app is available in the iTunes store here.

The Mobile Excellence Awards honors the best in mobile entertainment and technology, including start-ups, studios, content providers, entertainment, apps and handsets, and brands.

The Awards ceremony will take place in Los Angeles on Monday, December 5. A full list of this year’s finalists can be found at www.mobilexawards.com.
