Mischer Wins Choreography Award

Don Mischer, executive producer of this year's Emmys, will receive the Governors Award in the ninth annual American Choreography Awards. The award will be presented to Mischer for his significant contributions to dance. More information, as well as a full list of the nominees, can be found at the ACA website.

Mischer's history with the Emmy Awards is a long one; a veteran producer, he has staged the event seven times. He has been honored with 13 Emmys for his producing and directing work, and has created several specials, including The Kennedy Center Honors, The Tony Awards, The 100th Anniversary of Carnegie Hall, and The Opening Ceremony of the 2002 Olympic Winter Games.

Established in 1994, the American Choreography Awards recognizes outstanding achievements in film, television, commercials, and music video to raise the awareness of the art and craft of choreography for the camera and to honor it's creators.
