The First Televisionary Salon & Awards
at the Beverly Hills Country Club

ABC Entertainment President Stephen McPherson received the First Televisionary Award from the Television Academy's Committee on Diversity during the First Televisionary Salon & Awards.
Held at the Beverly Hills Country Club, this salon focused on diversity in fiction programming from the 2004-2005 season and recognized McPherson for his commitment to diversity both on-screen and behind the scenes in the 2004-2005 television season. Access Hollywood's Shaun Robinson was on hand as mistress of ceremonies for this packed event. Industry trade publication Television Week sponsored evening.
The evening included networking with industry executives, plus a salon where attendees exchanged ideas for advancing diversity in our business. Subsequent salons will recognize non-fiction programming and performers, among other Television Academy peer groups.
The Televisionary Salon & Awards celebrates individuals who have advanced diversity in the television industry. The committee honors a select number of network, studio and production executives who were involved in greenlighting of shows with diverse creators, and/or the hiring of diverse show runners, producers, directors, writers and on-screen talent—regardless of the ethnic makeup of the cast.
