Though this Monday’s 66th Emmy Awards will focus heavily on comedy, says executive producer Don Mischer, screen legend Billy Crystal will pay tribute to his longtime friend Robin Williams during the In Memoriam segment of the show.

Recently deceased actor and stand-up star Williams is one of the many late members of the television community who will be honored during that time, which will also feature a musical performance by Grammy-nominated recording artist Sara Bareilles.

"Billy Crystal will be speaking about the impact the Robin has had on all of us," Mischer shared.

He announced Bareilles and Crystal's participation during today's Emmy Awards Red Carpet Rollout ceremony at the Nokia Theatre LA LIVE in downtown Los Angeles.

66th Emmys host Seth Meyers and Television Academy chief Bruce Rosenblum joined Mischer for the yearly rollout ritual, which marks the final countdown to television's biggest night.

More than 300 workers are inside the Nokia preparing welcome Hollywood glitterati to a 3-hour show in which 26 golden statuettes will be presented. Broadcast in more than 150 countries around the globe, more than 600,000,000 people are projected to see this year's Emmys.

Seth Meyers — praised by Mischer as a "wonderful performer and brilliant writer" who can roll with the punches of live television — drew plenty of laughs observing how "incredibly quaint" it is, in times of CGI and such vast technological advancement, that people drove all the way into downtown L.A. to see 3 guys kick out a carpet.

Aiming for a well-paced, fun evening that pops and resonates well with audiences at home and inside the Nokia, both Mischer and Meyers emphasized the importance of keeping to time.

"Don feels it's important for me to understand exactly how long 3 hours is," Meyers explained. "So ever since I got the job, he calls me every 3 hours and says 'it's another 3 hours' and then hangs up."
