Yvette Nicole Brown and Frank Scherma to Announce Emmy Nominations

The Television Academy announced today that the nominations for the 75th Emmy Awards will be presented by Emmy Award-Nominated actress Yvette Nicole Brown and Academy Chair Frank Scherma at a live virtual ceremony slated for Wednesday, July 12, at 8:30 AM PDT/11:30 AM EDT. The ceremony will stream live on Emmys.com/nominations.

This season, the Emmy Awards celebrates its 75th anniversary. What began as a modest ceremony with five awards at the Hollywood Athletic Club has evolved into television's biggest night, celebrating excellence throughout the industry. In the age of "peak TV" with close to 600 original scripted series, the nominations recognize the importance of the writers, performers and all those who worked on television programs in the past year.

"It's been another transformational year in this platinum age of television that has delivered a diverse range of extraordinary programming," said Scherma. "We are delighted to have Yvette help us celebrate our 75th anniversary as we honor the exceptional shows, innovators, storytellers and talent whose work has entertained and connected us this season."

Actress, writer, producer and host Yvette Nicole Brown earned an Emmy nomination for her work on The Black Lady Sketch Show and is currently starring in Act Your Age on Bounce TV. She is best known for her roles on the hit television shows: Community, Drake & Josh and The Odd Couple. Her varied career in entertainment includes voicing characters on popular hits Pound Puppies, Central Park, Elena of Avalor and most recently Pupstruction. On the big screen, Brown has appeared in Avengers: Endgame, Repo Men and Dreamgirls. She also wrote, executive produced and starred in the romantic comedy Always a Bridesmaid, currently streaming on BET+.

Frank Scherma is currently serving a second term as Chair of the Television Academy. He is president and co-founder of RadicalMedia, the award-winning production company that develops, creates and produces film, television, advertising, design, digital and immersive experiences. Some of their notable projects include: the Academy Award-winning Summer of Soul, Emmy Award-winning Hamilton for Disney+, Rainn Wilson and the Geography of Bliss, Emmy-winning David Byrne's American Utopia and Netflix's Conversations with a Killer. He has served as executive producer on a multitude of entertainment hits including Miley Cyrus: Endless Summer Vacation (Backyard Sessions), Fear the Walking Dead: Passage, Spring Awakening: Those You've Known and Sherman's Showcase.

The 75th Emmy Awards will be broadcast live Monday, Sept. 18, (8:00-11:00 PM EDT/5:00-8:00 PM PDT) on FOX.
