Television Academy Governor Lily Tomlin to Receive SAG Lifetime Achievement Award

The award will be presented at the 23rd Screen Actors Guild Awards in January.

Acclaimed actress, activist, and Television Academy governor Lily Tomlin has been selected to receive the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award.

Tomlin, who began her career in the 1960s on Rowan and Martin's Laugh-in, went on to star in numerous films and television shows. She currently co-stars with Jane Fonda in Netflix's Grace and Frankie, for which she has been nominated for an Emmy.

In addition to her long performing career, she has been an active advocate for the LGBTQ community, co-founding The Los Angeles LGBT Center's Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center.

Tomlin will receive the award in January during the 23rd Screen Actors Guild Awards show.
