2005-2006 Board of Governors Announced
17 Newcomers Elected to Academy Leadership
LOS ANGELES, CA – The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences has announced the election of new representives to its Board of Governors. New terms begin October 1, 2005. Of the 54 total board seats, 27 of those seats' terms were up for election this year.
Moreover, 17 of those beginning new terms are first-time governors with the Television Academy--possibly an indication of increasing proactive involvement on the part of television community members in shaping our ever-evolving business. The Television Academy is currently enjoying a double-digit percentage increase in ratings garnered by this year's prestigious Primetime Emmy Awards, celebrating the best of the best in our industry.
