Buzz Potamkin, Revered Animation Producer

At one point, Potamkin's company, Perpetual Motion Pictures, was New York's largest animation producer.

Marshall "Buzz" Potamkin, an animation producer who worked for Hanna-Barbera and the Walt Disney Co., and established his own successful production company, Perpetual Motion Pictures, died April 22, 2012, in New York City. He was 66.

According to news reports, the cause was pancreatic cancer.

A trusted and respected animation producer, Potamkin was involved in numerous shows, including The Berenstain Bears, CBS Storybreak, Peter Pan, Teen Wolf, CBS Storybreak, Peter Pan and Teen Wolf.

Potamkin also produced hundreds of television commercials and the influential “I Want My MTV” ad campaign.

His awards included four Clios, the MTV Video Award, more than 20 ASIFA commendations, the Cannes Gold Lion, the Venice Silver Lion, the Peabody, two New York Festival Gold Medals and three Silver Medals and seven Emmy nominations.
