Terrence McNally was an American playwright, screenwriter, and actor.

A student of journalism at Columbia College in New York, McNally’s career spanned six decades with his plays, musicals, and operas routinely performed all over the world.

As an actor, McNally appeared in several television series including The Young and the Restless, The Rousters, The Great American Hero, Tenspeed and Brown Shoe, Salvage 1, and CHiPs.

He also wrote for various television shows such as Common Ground, The Last Mile, Andre’s Mother, and Mama Malone, as well as screenplays for the big screen including Love! Valour! Compassion! (1997), Frankie and Johnny (1991), and The Ritz (1976).

McNally died March 24, 2020, in Sarasota, Florida. He was 81.
