Senain Kheshgi is an award-winning South Asian American filmmaker. She has directed several feature and short films, including the three-time Emmy-nominated feature documentary The Diplomat (ESPN), and the award-winning Project Kashmir (PBS/Independent Lens). She created, wrote and directed the comedic docu-web series Divas of Karachi (PBS) and also directed a series of virtual reality films about Syrian and Afghan refugees for Facebook, Johnson & Johnson, and Save the Children.

She was commissioned by The Annenberg Center for Photography to make a VR film in Havana, Cuba as part of the groundbreaking yearlong Pacific Standard Time exhibition. Her films have premiered at Tribeca Film Festival, International Documentary Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), The Human Rights Watch Film Festival (NY and London) and many other festivals around the world. Her projects have been broadcast on PBS/Independent Lens, ESPN, A&E, Discovery, and CNN.
Senain is a three-time Sundance Fellow, a Tribeca All Access Fellow and has served on panels and juries for Sundance, Hot Docs, Sheffield Doc/Fest, ITVS, Tribeca, SxSW, CAAM and Film Independent. She is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences where she serves on the Executive Committee for the Documentary Branch as well as the Television Academy where she is on the Documentary Peer Group Executive Committee. Senain was on the Board of the International Documentary Association from 2008 to 20016 and is currently a Mentor for the 2020 CAAM Fellowship.
She recently founded a production company, MAJORITY, the auteur-driven studio that supports women filmmakers to develop, produce and create innovative documentary, fiction, commercial and branded productions.
