Ron Leibman

Ron Leibman was an American actor.

Born in New York City, Leibman graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University. He became a member of the Compass Players, an improvisational acting group, in the late 1950s, then joined the famed Actors Studio.

Leibman won a Primetime Emmy Award as Lead Actor In A Drama Series for his role as Martin 'Kaz' Kazinsky, a convict turned lawyer, in the 1978-79 crime drama Kaz, a short-lived series he created and co-wrote.

Leibman's other TV credits include The Edge of Night, Police Story, Murder, She Wrote, Law & Order, The Practice, The Sopranos, and Friends, where he recurred as the father of Jennifer Aniston's Rachel Green. Leibman also provided voice work for several episodes of the animated series Archer.

Leibman died December 6, 2019, in New York City, New York. He was 82.
