Pedro Gomez was an American sports journalist.

Growing up in Miami, Gomez attended the University of Miami and majored in journalism.

Gomez worked as a sports columnist and national baseball writer at The Arizona Republic, having previously worked for the Sacramento Bee, San Jose Mercury News, The Miami Herald, San Diego Union, and Miami News. He was a member of the Baseball Writers Association of America.

Gomez joined ESPN in 2003. Based in Phoenix, he served as a correspondent on SportsCenter, Baseball Tonight, and Wednesday Night Baseball. During 2005 and 2006, Gomez gained noteriety for reporting on San Francisco Giants player Barry Bonds and his quest to hit Babe Ruth's home run record.

Over the course over his four decade career, Gomez covered more than 25 World Series games.

Gomez died February 7, 2021, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was 58.
