Mark Goddard was an American actor best known for his portrayal of Major Don West in CBS' Lost in Space and Detective Sgt. Chris Ballard in The Detectives.

Goddard began his career in television in1959 when he landed a role in CBS' Johnny Ringo. From there, Goddard made appearances in CBS anthology series The DuPont Show with June Allyson, the ABC Western The Rebel, Dick Powell's Zane Grey Theatre, The Rifleman, Perry Mason, The Virginian, and Gunsmoke.

Goddard was on the hit series The Detectives which ran on ABC and NBC from 1958-1961. His next big role was Major Don West on Lost in Space (1965–1968).

Goddward would go onto guest-star on three ABC series, The Fugitive, The Mod Squad, and The Fall Guy and for a while, moonlight as a Hollywood agent.
