Chuck Bail

Chuck Bail was an American stuntman, actor, and director.

Perhaps most widely known for portraying the stunt coordinator opposite Peter O'Toole in The Stunt Man (1980), Bail was a seasoned stuntman, having performed in film and television for five decades.

Bail served as the stunt double for Max Baer Jr. on The Beverly Hillbillies and for Peter Preck on The Big Valley and was the stunt coordinator on the films The Devil's 8 (1969), Werewolves on Wheels (1971), and Cleopatra Jones (1973), the latter of which he also directed.

He also helmed multiple episodes of a number of television series including CHiPs, Knight Rider, Dragnet, The New Adam-12, and Baywatch Nights.

As an actor, he had guest starring roles in television programs such as The Texan, Perry Mason, Gunsmoke, The Man From U.N.C.L.E., The Monkees, Batman, The Big Valley, Daniel Boone, Bonanza, and Kung Fu.

Bail died November 25, 2020, in Tyler, Texas. He was 85.
