English actress Claire Foy first rose to prominence in 2009 when she appeared in the BBC miniseries adaptation of the Charles Dickens novel Little Dorrit, playing the lead role. She next appeared in the TV movie version of Terry Pratchett's Going Postal before returning to the BBC in their revival of the classic series Upstairs Downstairs.

She has since had leading roles in the miniseries The Promise and White Heat, the film Season of the Witch, and the regular series Crossbones. Most recently, Foy played Anne Boleyn in the miniseries Wolf Hall. She was nominated for a Critics Choice award for her performance.

 

Foy made her professional stage debut in DNA and The Miracle, two in a trio of one act plays staged at the Royal National Theatre in London. In 2013, she returned to the stage to appear in Macbeth. She played Lady Macbeth, with James McAvoy in the title role.
