The Common Language of DEIA
The Television Academy is committed to increasing visibility, equity, participation and leadership in our industry for those from underrepresented communities.
Having an understanding of the common language of DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility) supports the dedication to this work. We’re excited to share the first of a series of videos in the new collection of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Accessibility resources.

The Way Forward
At the Television Academy we strive to create a diverse generation of storytellers by building a roadmap with a clear sense of best practices and resources for our members. This roadmap reflects the ongoing development and evolution of successful DEIA (Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Accessibility) efforts within the industry. This work is the key to any impactful change and this change is a way forward.

Defining Biased Actions
Historically marginalized individuals reported biased actions as the reason for leaving or not taking jobs in the industry. As members of the Television Academy you have the power to enact meaningful, applicable change across the industry. When we understand and can define biased actions, we are cognizant of its effects—and can then work towards building systemic change.
