Paisner Elected International Academy President

At the International Emmy Awards, the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the election of Bruce Paisner as president of the academy. As president, Paisner will handle numerous honorary duties for the organization. Paisner is vice president and deputy group head at Hearst Entertainment & Syndication. He was elected to the position at the academy's annual meeting, and his two-year term begins with the new year.

Paisner replaces outgoing president Fred Cohen, who has been appointed chairman of the International Academy, serving as the organization's chief executive officer.

"With his long experience in and knowledge of the worldwide television and media industries, the academy is truly fortunate to have Bruce as its new president," said Cohen to The Hollywood Reporter. "Bruce is a consummate global television executive. As the new chairman, I will be honored to continue working with him."
