Native Americans in the Television Industry
November is Native American Heritage Month, and TelevisionAcademy.com celebrated Native culture and its representation in film and television with a series of stories of Native Americans.
Writer Hillary Atkin interviewed Native artists from all areas of the industry, from actors to writers to below-the-line talent, and Native Americans in academia for some historical and contemporary perspective.
Atkin spoke to veteran actor Wes Studi, actress Q'orianka Kilcher, and writer, director, and producer Chris Eyre, who share their experiences as Native artists in entertainment. Other stories include actor Rudy Ramos, writer Anthony Florez, director Sydney Freeland, and many others.
